Mununggurr
Mi*k*y*gu Mununggurr
(Mi*k*y for short) was from the Djapu clan of the Yolngu cultural group
of North East Arnhem Land, Australia. Mi*k*y's true spiritual homeland
is Wandawuy.
Mi*k*y*gu had played yidaki in ceremony since he was a teenager
and came to worldwide attention while recording and touring with the band
Yothu Yindi representing
his people and all of Australia around the world. Milkay also became very
well known for his excellent instructional "Hard Tongue Didgeridoo"
CD.
Mi*k*y was a very busy man and though not a prolific maker he
did find the time to make the occasional great stick!
