Mirarra was born in 1980 and he is a wonderfully talented Yidaki craftsman of the Gumatj Clan. Mirarra studied and worked with Djalu Gurruwiwi at Gunyangara for a while and Mirarra's father Peter Datjing, is a well respected elder at Galiwin'ku, Elcho Island where Peter is often asked to perform important ceremonial functions.
