Peter Datjing, is a well respected elder at Galiwin'ku, Elcho Island where he is often asked to perform important ceremonial functions. Peter is the son of Charlie Matjuwi Burarrwanga, clan leader and elder for the Gumatj Bararrwanga clan and a world renowned Aboriginal artist. Peter is also the father of the very talented yidaki craftsman Mirarra

Gumatj is one of the largest clan groups of the Yolngu people from north east Arnhem Land!
